Question 1-5

Hey guys, welcome back to my blog. Today, I'd like to answer some of the questions I listed on the earlier posts about climate change. The questions i'll be answering will be number 1-5.

1. Climate change is caused from out human activities. The greenhouse gases we emit warms our earth since it prevents the escape of heat radiating from Earth to space. The gases categorized as greenhouse gas are carbon dioxide, water vapor, methane, and nitrous oxide. Carbon dioxide is released through natural processes such as respiration and volcano eruptions and through human activities such as deforestation and burning fossil fuels. Water vapor is the most abundant greenhouse gas. It increases as Earth's atmosphere warms. Methane is produced through both natural sources and human activities: decomposition of wastes in landfills, cow gas emission, ruminant digestion, and agriculture, to name a few. Nitrous oxide is a powerful greenhouse gas produced through cultivation practices such as organic fertilizers and fossil fuel combustion.

2. What can we do to prevent climate change?

There are a countless number of things we can do to prevent climate change. The first thing anyone can start with is to learn about it and spread the knowledge to the people around you. though climate change has become well known compared to the last decade, we still need to speak up and encourage others to protect our earth. The next thing we can do is to use renewable energy. It may cost money to change your power source, however, this can greatly reduce fossil fuels, which are deadly to the environment. Another possible way is to shop-stop. People tend to buy too many things that they eventually won't consume, such as food. When we throw rotten food away, the energy that was used to grow the good will be wasted.

3. What is our current situation?

Humans have raised the carbon dioxide concentration by 48% since the Industrial Revolution began, which is the most important long-lived "forcing" of climate change. Changes in our lifestyle warmed our earth. As a result, wild animals are facing challenges of survival since sea levels are rising and oceans are becoming warmer. Intense droughts, storms, heat waves, and melting glaciers are also destroying the animals' habitats. Humans are also suffering from heat waves and wildfires.

4. How does recycling help the environment?

Recycling saves resources, energy, helps protect the environment, and reduces incineration. When we recycle, used materials transforms into new products, and by doing so, it helps conserve important raw materials and protects natural habitats. Moreover, since it reduces the need of extracting, it prevents substantial air and water pollution.

5. What will the world be like in the next century if our situation doesn't change?

It is difficult to predict our future in issues that still has unknown areas. However, we can expect a warmer atmosphere, a more acidic ocean, higher sea levels, and large change in climate. These effects will cause an extinction of multiple species, such as those living in the north pole.

Questions 6,7,9,10

Welcome back to my blog. Next, I will like to answer some more questions I listed in the earlier blog, number 6,7,9, and 10.  6. Which country is most active and successful in preventing climate change?  According to the Climate Change performance index 2020 results, Sweden ranked first, after Denmark and Morocco. Many european countries were ranked high and this is because they implemented a european climate law, with an objective of climate-neutral EU by 2050. It also targets a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions of at least 55% by 2030 compared to 1990. EU will also aim for a higher volume of of carbon net sink by 2030. I believe that it is these specific goals that the EU made, which makes them rank high in the performance index. FYI, the United States of America is ranked the lowest in the index.  7. How did the pandemic affect climate change Before reading some articles, I thought that climate change will be affected due to the pandemic since people will sta...

Questions to answer throughout this blog

I'll post a list of some questions about my topic that I would like to answer on my later posts!  1. What causes climate change? 2. What can we do to prevent climate change? 3. What is our current situation? 4. How does recycling help the environment? 5. What will the world be like in the next century if our current situation does not change? 6. Which country is most active and successful in preventing climate change? 7. How did the pandemic affect climate change? 8. Are there any organizations that are against climate change? 9. What did Greta Thunberg do? 10. What is the leading cause of deforestation of the Amazon forest? 11. Which country is the least active on climate change and why? 12. How damaging are cows' gas emissions to the environment? 13. What does Japan do for climate change?  14. Who are opposing to climate change?  15.  What kind of species are in danger right now due to climate change?

Questions 11,12,13,14,15

Hey guys, today I would like to answer Questions 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15. 11. Which country is least active on climate change?  It is hard to decide which country is least active in climate change, since there are countries that are in a poor situation that they don't have the knowledge or time to face this issue. Yet, in the Climate Change Performance Index, Saudi Arabia is ranked last, after the United States of America. I can assume that Saudi Arabia is the worst since their major source that runs their economy is oil, which emits greenhouse gases into the air. I however cannot think of why America is ranked the second to last. America claims to be the best and richest country in the world, but is ranked very low among an global issue that will be affecting our ancestors. The reasons why they are ranked low is because of their withdrawal from the Paris Agreement in 2016, and lack of national level targets.  12. How dangerous are cows' gas emissions to the environment?...
